Once I started Midnight Vista, I HAD to finish it. It was a quick read, as well as funny, gory, cute, touching, and badass. Yes, all of those things.
The only complaint you’ll get out of me is that the ending was so abrupt. I need more! I won’t spoil anything, but there is most definitely material for another book.
The timeline hopping was written clearly; I did not get confused, and, embarrassingly, timeline hopping tends to confound me.
What I’m most happy about is that at no point whatsoever did I check to see how many pages I had left — that, for me, costs a book a rating star.
I had to put this book down to go to a Zoom meeting, where I then talked about the book! Library staff meetings sometimes struggle with staying on topic, especially when we’re all reading great things during a global pandemic.
I highly recommend this title for fans of sci-fi horror, aliens, and those with somewhat strong stomachs — it’s a wee bit gory (heads explode, brains exposed).
